HIKING AND SNOWSHOEING

Join this fun and active group for hiking and snowshoeing around the scenic Grand Valley and the Grand Mesa. Hikes are easy-going, reasonably paced and typically 3-5 miles. They are either a loop or out-and-back, usually with less than 200 feet of elevation increase.
Typically, we meet at a location and carpool to the trailheads. We often hike up on the Grand Mesa during the summer and snowshoe during the winter. Cross-country skiers are welcome to join us as well. We meet every Thursday at 8:45 a.m. weather permitting to finalize plans and decide on carpools and depart at 9 am.
Our next hike –
Hello Newcomers,
It is time to hike an easy trail. This often brings our new folks. Thursday, we will hike the easy, level hike of Kindred Reserve. There will be views of the Colorado National Monument, ponds, and a stream. This hike is about 2 miles and will take less than 2 hours. It will be partly sunny, with temperatures in the 50’s.
Kindred Reserve, nature park, is a Grand Junction park near Tiara Rado golf course. More info Here: https://www.gjcity.org/1087/Kindred-Reserve-Open-Space-Park
Directions: Proceed South on Redlands Parkway (think south end of 24 Rd.) which changes to South Broadway. Head towards Tiara Rado Golf Course. When you see the big Kindred Reserve sign near the rail fence, continue past the driving range and turn right in the special parking lot. (It has construction equipment) Do not park in the driving range.
We will meet at 0900.
