        What's Happening?

There is always something going on at GJNC.
Stop here often.  Things change monthly

        Updating contractor/health provider list.

Members who have been happy with the performance of the contractors or health providers they hired provide these names.  It is not an endorsement by GJNC, it's simply a sharing of information among club members.  If you have had good service from an individual or company, you may have shared that information with others in the newsletter. Because this list has gotten so big, and because we need to check the information, there will be a new list in the January, 2012 newsletter.  If you want to keep your recommendation, you must notify Davienne Jacobson, newsletter, by mail (P.O. Box 3598, GJ CO 81502), by phone (970 812-5802) or by email (gjnewcomers@gmail.com) by December 17 for the January newsletter.

        Share the Joy

We have now adopted four families from Salvation Army for our annual project (sorry this info was not yet available for Nov. meeting). We have 9 children (6F,3M),4 Moms and 3 Dads. To adopt a child, or children, call Jeri Mishmash 242-0070. Return gifts to Dec. 7 meeting in unsealed gift bag clearly marked with child's name and age. If you prefer to contribute cash toward a purchase for children, our elves, Jeri and Del, will shop for the requested gifts. If you can provide personal care packages for Mom and/or Dad or grocery gift cards, please call Dotti Miller, 255-9964. Our special thanks to those who have already contributed and to all participants. Your generosity is very much appreciated.

        New Years Eve Potluck

WOW!  What a great evening we had.  88 folks signed up, and we had a terrific time.  See some pix here.

Looking for a fun spot to have dinner on New Year's Eve? Well, look no further--come to the Newcomers potluck supper. Festivities are 5:00-6:30 PM at the Museum of the West, in downtown GJ, 462 Ute (5th and Ute) Whitman Education Center, (the building next to the museum). You can park in the back lot or on the street. This is an early dinner to jump-start the evening. Come join other members & bring your friends and family who are not Newcomer members. Of course, it is Saturday, New Year's Eve, December 31, 2011. Cost--$5.00 per person (member or guest) to cover cost of the room rental, security and supplies. Table service will be provided including plates, utensils, glasses/cups. Everyone should bring a potluck dish to serve 10 (appetizer, main dish, salad, side dish or dessert). There is access to a very small kitchen, so please plan to wash your serving dishes at home. Coffee and tea will be provided, & bring your own drinks if you want something else. (If you choose to bring wine, please make it white only.) You can sign up and pay at the December coffee or send a check (payable to Newcomers) to Bev Biggs 457 Whitetail Lane, GJ, CO 81507. The deadline for sign-up is December 27. If you have questions, call Bev Biggs 241-2271 or any committee member. Other committee members are: Bev Kingsley, Marilyn Montoya, Joyce Olson, Paula Struckman, & Del Wharton.
