2009 NEWCOMERS GALA

The Newcomers Gala is just around the corner. You don't want to miss it this year. There's going to be a lot of good food, drink, music, dancing and merriment along with enjoyable social interaction with all of your newcomer friends. Get your reservation in by December 26th and you will be entered into the early bird drawing for a chance to win a $50.00 gift certificate to a restaurant of your choice. So please make your reservations and mark your calendars for the Annual Newcomers Gala to be held on Saturday January 31, 2009. This is one of our most popular events and you won't want to miss it! The Gala will be held at Two River's Convention Center. This exceptional dinner dance is everyone's chance to dress up and have a really special evening. The cost of the evening will be $40.00 per person for Newcomers members and $45.00 per person for nonmembers. This event is not just for couples. So if you are a single newcomer, come on out and join the festivities with everybody.

The evening will begin with Cocktails and appetizers, starting at 6:00 PM and dinner will be served at 7:00 PM.  The Silent Auction and Raffle will not be included in this year’s program.  Dancing will begin at approximately 8:00 PM with music provided by The Men of Music Band.  A cash bar will be available throughout the evening.

The following menu will be served for the evenings Gala:

• Various Appetizers
• Baby Bibb Lettuce accented with Artichokes, Hearts of Palm, Fresh Tomatoes, Kalmata Olives, Onions and Red Wine Balsamic Vinaigrette
• 4 oz. Beef Tenderloin Served with Brandy Brown Sauce Accented with Boursin Cheese
• Chicken Breast stuffed with Crabmeat and topped with Bechamel Sauce
• Lyonnaise Potatoes
• Zucchini with Carrot Mousse
• Artesian Breads with Butter
• Chocolate Kahlua Crunch Cake
• Iced Tea, Water, and Coffee

We started taking reservations at the December meeting and continuing to do so at the January meeting or you can make your reservation by mail to Alberta Colombin at 2519 Hayes Drive Grand Junction, CO 81505.

If there are friends that you would like to sit with, please submit your checks together in one envelope or if that is not possible, coordinate your table assignments with the Gala representative at the signup table during the January Coffee. Each table will seat 8 guests. Those who pay by Friday December 26, 2008 will be entered into an early bird drawing for a chance to win a $50.00 gift certificate to a restaurant of your choice! The drawing will be held during the January Newcomers Meeting (you do not have to be present to win.) All reservations and checks must be received by Friday January 23, 2009.
